Fourth - Sixth Grade Special Day Class

Profile

Hello Room 14 families!  If you are new to O.W. Erlewine intermediate special day class, here is a little bit about me!  I came to teaching in a round about way; I grew up in Virginia Beach, Va, the youngest daughter of a military family.  I received my BA in International Studies: East Asia from the College of William and Mary in Virginia and spent some time in the Navy, where I met my husband.  I did not think about pursuing a different career in teaching until my son, Kyle, was diagnosed as on the autism spectrum at about 2.5 years old.  His teachers helped me to help him progress and grow, and with their encouragement, I eventually received my Masters in Education from Cabrini College in Pennsylvania and my multiple subject and special education credentials from National University, here in California.  In my spare time, I like to read, paint, garden and generally just goof off!  I look forward to working with all of you and watching your children progress!
