I’ve been teaching in the library at O. W. Erlewine for over 10 years, since my own daughter attended school here. I have a Teacher Certificate as well as a Library Media Teacher Certificate. I run the Reading Counts computerized reading program, the Student Techie program, and Year Book. Some of the things I most enjoy here are finding books requested by students or teachers, reading, and playing with the Smartboard. I also really appreciate the great parent/community support for the library and the cooperativeness among the school staff.
We have participated in the CYRM program for some years. Nominated books will be read and voted upon, the school vote mailed in by April 1st to be counted with other participating schools, and the winners announced later this school year. Books include a primary picture book category for grades 1-3, an older reader picture book category for grades 4-6, and a novel category for grades 4-6. Each book will also have a Reading Counts quiz that students can take on school computers and earn points (and prizes). See the links below or to the right for more information, suc
